Take the Hypnotic Way to Managing Weight
It’s one of the hardest battles we wage, and one that we fight often – the battle of the bulge is difficult to win, if not in the short term, then in the long run. How many times have we gone on crash diets and intense exercise routines to manage our weight, and then gain back all those lost pounds in a matter of months because we’ve reverted back to our old habits of eating too much and exercising too little. What we don’t realize is that keeping our weight at a healthy level is not a battle that needs to be won immediately; instead, we need to look at it as a series of small fights, each of which must be won little by little. And one of the best ways to do this is through hypnosis, either the self-induced kind or the one brought about by a licensed practitioner.
Hypnosis helps in weight management because:
- You can trick your mind into believing that you are not hungry every time you think you are. All you need to do is hold on to your will power and increase your focus on not eating when it’s not meal time.
- You can induce yourself to exercise regularly. Hypnosis allows you to program your mind to do exactly what you want it to do.
- It allows you to get yourself into a positive state of mind, one that accepts that regular exercise and a healthy diet are the only steps that need to be repeatedly followed in order to manage and control your weight, slowly but steadily, and keep it off permanently.
- It allows you to keep your mind free of stress and relaxes you. Since stress is a known contributor to obesity, you can see how hypnosis helps you control your weight.
- You start thinking of yourself positively and so stop obsessing over the need to lose weight fast. When you’re in a good frame of mind, it’s easier to stick to a regular diet and a sensible exercise routine, both of which do not tax your body or your mental psyche.
- You can make yourself believe that your goal, even though it’s far away, is attainable, and believing in yourself is a vital step in getting there.
- Although this form of weight management has its detractors, what they don’t realize is that you don’t literally hypnotize yourself to be thin. In fact, you’re programming your mind to change your habits and adopt the right frame of mind that is conducive to losing weight in a healthy way over a period of time. And that’s why hypnosis works as a weight management tool.
